Yes, it is our anniversary. We have been sharing this open journal for a year now. I just got the statistics from our IT folks and we have had 26,974 visits in the past year, starting with only 21 in the first month.
See, there was no need for embarrassment, and all those times you read this blog trying to juggle a laptop under the blanket late at night was completely unnecessary… you are not alone in your addition.
Readership has been building to a high of over 3,200 visits a month. I am taking the most positive outlook on this number as I can. I prefer to view it as repeat readers building in numbers, versus brand new people each month replacing the last 3,200 who discontinued readership altogether in disgust. It always pays to have an optimistic out look on these things I am told.
In the beginning I expressed my hope for this blog is to be a combination employment related tips, useful comments or information about the Desert, mind numbing personal realizations, and if I am doing it correctly mildly entertaining and amusing.
Well, you the readers have been kind in your comments (almost to say mute), so I will take that silence to mean that I am doing my job, and not spending too much time on mind-numbing self-realization.
With that said let’s give ourselves a pat on the back, and close this celebration with a link to the all-time favorite blog entry, for those who may have not been with us from the early months way back in ’07. The title is, “There is no shame in riding a Comfort Bike!”
