A few days ago I received a communication for a blog reader by the name of Carly. (See there, you aren’t the only one who reads my blog!) In her email she wrote,
“Good Afternoon –
I noticed in the “Desert Jobs Introduction” in the upper right hand corner of the blog pages, there is a typo. “Welcome, my name is Murrel Crump, and I am a member of Riverside County’s Human Resources Recruiting Team. My assignment is in the eastern portion of the County from roughly Palm Springs to the City of Blythe and the Colorado River boarder with Arizona.” It should be “border”. Just wanted to point that out, because we all make typos!
I thoroughly enjoy all your blogs! Keep up the good work!”
Although, it was heartwarming to see that someone appreciated my blog efforts, I had to inform her by reply e-mail, as follows:
“Carly,
Thank you so much for your observation. Actually, we have placed one of those redwood stained good-neighbor fences between the County and the State of Arizona, so the proper term really is board[er].
Have a great day and don't take any wooden nickels, as they all come from Arizona.
Murrel”
Well, of course I will make the correction (as soon as I get a round tuit). If anyone else finds a typo in this blog please, please do me a favor and keep it to yourself so you don’t end up being a pest like you know who.
Another blog ending, results in another blog closing contestant in the world’s greatest blog “closing line” competition. (See, there is a high price to be paid for criticism!) Notwithstanding, the shame and humiliation I have suffered at the hands of one blog reader, I give you a confidential means of skills self-assessment…
