For those of you, who innocently clicked on Desert Blog while looking through the Desert Jobs pages, let me explain what a blog is:
Blog -- (weB LOG)
A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger" (I’ve been called worse names). Blogs are regularly updated using software that allows people with little or no technical background (that’s me) to update and maintain the blog.
Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in chronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominently.
Slog – (Slice of a web LOG)
I operate my blog as a portion (slice) of the Human Resources web site, and access it with blog software designed for the technically challenged. This arrangement allows the reader to go seamlessly back and forth from the “Desert Jobs” web page to the Desert Blog.
Blogosphere or Blogsphere
The current state of all information available on blogs and/or the sub-culture of those who create and use blogs (I didn’t know I was part of a sub-culture, but I guess that is better than no culture at all).
