Yes the three little words I have been waiting to hear whispered into my telephone receiver, “Your blog is up” and now the moment has finally come. A big shout out to Sue Martin’s Applications Development Team, particularly Alex More; they keep our Human Resources web site up and running, and have now helped me launch into the blogosphere.
Welcome, welcome, my name is Murrel Crump, the name Murrel comes from my grandfather (yes I am a dude). My research indicates this name and spelling was not an uncommon given name in the 1890’s to the turn of the century when my grandfather got tagged with it. I am a member of Riverside County Human Resources’ Recruiting and Selection Team. My assignment is in the eastern portion of the County from roughly Palm Springs to the City of Blythe and the Colorado River boarder with Arizona. I also oversee the Desert Jobs page on the County’s Human Resources web site, ergo the title “Desert Jobs Blog”.
Web pages are great, don’t get me wrong (as I said I have one myself), but they are somewhat static and the content doesn’t seem to change that often. Therefore, I have turned to blogging to fulfill my unofficial duties as cheerleader and brand evangelist for the Desert. My hope for this blog is to be a combination employment related tips, useful comments or information about the Desert, mind numbing personal realizations, and if I am doing it correctly mildly entertaining and amusing. Please let me know if I go too far one way or the other.
Yes, you can talk back to the blog. I say this realizing that I am bound to draw either controversy or ridicule; I will let you know if it goes too far one way or the other.
