EAS Supervisory Training- Newly Revised and Expanded (2009)
Training for supervisors and managers to be able to identify signs and symptoms signaling high risks behaviors from normal stress reactions. To be able to respond to the employee in distress in an empathic manner. Also, managers will learn steps to take to effectively communicate with his/her staff.
This training also offers an in depth look at EAS services, the difference between formal and informal referrals, step by step instructions on how to refer a difficult employee, and the importance of the supervisor's/manager's intervention in encouraging the employee to seek services early. This is excellent information for new and seasoned supervisors.
New Employee Orientation
EAS participates in regularly scheduled New Employee Orientations in order to familiarize new County of Riverside employees with services available to them. These are scheduled regularly through Human Resources Career Development Division.
Stress Management
Upon request, EAS staff provides educational workshops designed to educate employees about how to manage life's stressors with more comfort. This training focuses on solid, concrete information for optimum performance.
Violence in the Workplace
This training is mandatory for all supervisors and managers. It is routinely scheduled by the County Safety Office and/or the Center for Government Excellence, both located in Human resources. Please check training calendars in both divisions for this informative class.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefings
Sadly, crises and/or tragedies do occur in the workplace. Some events, such as the death of a co-worker, is upsetting to the entire staff. On those occasions when a group of County employees has been impacted by any traumatic event, EAS staff is available to help.
