Trainings Offered

The employee Assistance Program provides specialized trainings on various topics for employees county wide.  Generally, these trainings are presented at the request of individual departments and are all free.  To schedule one of the trainings listed below, simply contact the EAP office in your region.

EAP Supervisory Training

Training for supervisors and managers offers an in depth look at EAP services, the difference between formal and informal referrals, step by step instructions on how to refer a difficult employee, and the importance of the supervisor's/manager's intervention in encouraging the employee to seek services early.  This is excellent information for new and seasoned supervisors.

New Employee Orientation

EAP participates in regularly scheduled New Employee Orientations in order to familiarize new County of Riverside employees with services available to them.  These are scheduled regularly through Human Resources Career Development Division.

Stress Less

Upon request, EAP staff provides educational workshops designed to teach employees how to manage life's stressors with more comfort.  This training focuses on solid, concrete information for optimum performance.

Violence in the Workplace

This training is mandatory for all supervisors and managers.  It is routinely scheduled by the County Safety Office and/or the Center for Government Excellence, both located in Human resources.  Please check training calendars in both divisions for this informative class.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefings

Sadly, crises and/or tragedies occur in the workplace from time to time. Some events, such as the death of a co-worker, can upset a whole staff. On those occasions when a group of county employees has been impacted by any traumatic event, EAP staff is available to help. All staff are highly trained debriefers. To schedule a debriefing at the worksite, please call the EAP office in your region.
