Textbook & Tuition Reimbursement Text

The Textbook & Tuition Reimbursement program is designed to provide financial assistance to qualified employees pursuing education for identified difficult-to-recruit or leadership / management positions.

Once approved, participants are reimbursed for the costs of textbooks, tuition, registration and laboratory fees for courses required to obtain an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, license, or certification as identified on the approved career development plan.

To apply for Textbook & Tuition Reimbursement please complete and submit the Educational Support Program application which can be found on the How to Get Started page. Once we receive your completed application you will be contacted to take an on-line career assessment. Once the results are received, you will be scheduled to meet with a Career Counselor and have an opportunity to discuss your County career and educational goals.

 

Depending on the volume of applications it may take up to 90 days for the entire application process to be completed. This is also dependent on the applicant's completion of the assessment in a timely manner.

 

Message for Department Heads, Managers, and Supervisors:
By signing an employees Educational Support Program application you are stating they are currently in good standing with no documented performance or behavioral issues, and have completed their initial County probation. Please see the Contact Us page for additional questions. Thank you.

 

        Eligibility Text

 

1.   Regular full-time County employees who have successfully completed their initial probationary period, or have been hired for a position designated by the Human Resources Director as difficult to recruit or retain.

2.    Any TAP and Per Diem employee working full-time in a Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing classification, in any County Department, who works a minimum of 520 hours in any fiscal year.  

3.    Part-time regular employees regularly scheduled to work less than 36 hours per week who otherwise are eligible, may receive a pro-rata level of benefits from this program.
