Selecting All of the MSDS Titles
Installing the Viewer Application
To retrieve specific MSDS titles, enter one or more search clues
into the text boxes. Next, press the Search button. After
the search has been completed, a list of matched MSDS titles will
appear in the lower frame. To request an exact match, simply click
on the Exact Match check box.
To retrieve all MSDS titles, press Select All button.
To view an MSDS title, click on the MSDS file entry in the application
list box (lower frame). The browser will then launch the MSDSFinder
Viewer application with the first page of the MSDS showing. Viewing
the MSDS is the same as in the MSDSFinder Search & Retrieval
System (see also Internet Explorer Setup or
Netscape Setup).
From the menu bar choose View, Options…,Program tab.
Then select the File Types button. From there select
New Type (only if TIFF file type does not exist, else edit
the existing type). For the description choose TIFF,
for Associated extension choose tif, and select
image/tiff for content type (MIME). Then select
New Action. Next fill in open for the Action and
C:\xxx\INETVIEW.EXE (where C:\xxx\ is the path where the installed download resides) for the associated application for action.
From the menu bar choose Options, General Preferences,
then select the Helpers tab. Next, create a new type and
select image for the MIME type and TIFF for
the MIME Subtype (do not create a new type if a tiff type
already exist for your browser, only edit the existing one).
Click OK. Make the file extensions tiff,tif. Finally,
select Launch Application and enter C:\xxx\INETVIEW.EXE (where C:\xxx\ is the path where the install of the download resides).
Close all open windows.
Click on the link below to go to the viewer download area.
Choose the correct path. Next, when the browser prompts for an action, choose
to open the file and then follow the instructions on the screen.
