Veterans Opportunities

In an effort to honor the men and women in our armed forces, and to continue benefiting from their talents, training, and dedication to public service, Riverside County expanded opportunities for civilian employment to our external veteran candidates.

Our Programs

Veterans' Preference

Veterans’ Preference provides veterans opportunities to receive interviews in the selection process with the County of Riverside. Veterans and spouses of disabled or deceased veterans, will be given an interview if they apply for positions and meet the requirements as outlined in Board Policy C-3. VET Program

The Veteran Education and Training program allows the County to offer temporary apprenticeship, or on-the-job training opportunities, throughout departments in a variety of occupational areas. This program is an effective tool for broadening veterans' knowledge, skills, and abilities to be competitive candidates for regular county careers. National Veterans and Military Families Month

Every November, the County of Riverside honors and recognizes those who served in the nation's military. To participate, please contact HRLOD@rivco.org for more information.
